   Ein König stand auf einem Turm und sah voll Vergnüngen auf das Land, das er beherrschte.   "Wie glücklich bin ich ! " sagte er.   Mit ihm war ein König von Ägypten, der antwortet:  "Die Götter stehen dir bei, aber es lebt noch ein Feind, vor dem du dich Fürchten solltest."   Kaum hatte er das gesagt, als ein Bote die Nachricht brachte, daß dieser Feind auf dem Schlachtefelde gefallen war.      Und mit diesen Worten zeigte er den beiden Königen einen abgeschnittenen Kopf.  Mit Entsetzen trat der König von Ägypten zurück.  "Doch warne ich dich, es kann für dich noch schlimm werden-ein Sturm könnte wohl deine Flotte zerstören", sagte er.   Plötzlich hörte man laute Jubelschreie.  Die vielen Schiffte waren glücklich zurückgekommen, und zwar mit viel Gold und fremden Schätzen  beladen.   Ein Sturm hatte die Schiffe des Feindes zerstreut, und der Krieg war nur vorbei.
"Wahrlich, ich muß dich glücklich nennen", sagte der Ägypter, "doch glaube ich nicht, daß ein Mensch stets nur Freude erleben kann.   Ich habe selbst lange glücklich regiert.  Aber mir nahm Gott meinem lieben Sohn.   Also rate ich dir, das, was du am liebsten magst, zu nehmen und ins Meer zu werfen. "Der könig nahm einem kostbaren Ring und warf ihn ins Meer.



  A king stood on a tower and looked at  the land he was ruling. " How happy I am!" he said.  A Egyptian king was there with him and answered." The gods stand by you, but an enemy which you should fear , is still alive.  As soon as he said, a messenger brought the news that the enemy was already dead in the battlefield.  And with these words, he showed a cut head to the both kings.
With horror ,the king of Egypt stepped back. "But I worn you that something bad for you may happen . A storm could devastate your fleet hard."he said. 　Suddenly people heard loud shouts for joy. The many ships had come back and to be sure, loaded with many Gold and foreign treasures. A storm had devastated the enemy ships, and the war was over.
"Truly I must call you happy."the king of Egypt said. "But I don't believe that a man can always experience only pleasure. I myself,have been ruling for a long time. But God take my lovely son from me. therefore I advise you to take the most favorite thing you like, and to cast it into the sea." The king took a expensive ring and cast it into the sea.
